Shine Youth
As a family we are delighted to be a champion for SHINE YOUTH and are very excited that our church has chosen to support this invaluable mission to local young people.
SHINE YOUTH’s mission is to help young people shine and see a brighter future.
Shine Youth has a strong Christian ethos, and this is reflected in who they are and all that they do. They are committed to supporting young people to have good mental health, positive self-esteem and identity, hope and purpose. They do this through high quality 1:1 pastoral mentoring and innovative group courses.
We know that 1 in 6 young people aged 5-16 have mental health issues and SHINE
YOUTH aims to help these individuals at an early stage by equipping and
empowering them to deal with their thoughts and feelings in a positive way, which
reduces the risk of long-term mental health problems. They also minister to young people who have
suffered loss, whether through bereavement or family breakdown and offer
bereavement support groups.
Our
financial support as a church has enabled SHINE YOUTH to employ a Wellbeing Lead
for September who will be leading new courses for more young people in order for their work to be more preventative and meet the
higher level of need arising from the Covid pandemic.
These courses will also use prayer spaces to encourage reflection on biblical truths and help young people begin a conversation with God for themselves.

We are so grateful for the support of our Church for this important work, and we look forward to sharing some of the wonderful stories of how God has ministered to, and blessed young people through this ministry.
