Aston & Nechells Foodbank

foodbank challenge

On Sunday 3rd November, the Foodbank Challenge was shared. If you missed the service or did not manage to pick up a copy, click HERE to get one.

The idea is to get a box and each day add an item from the calendar — we have suggested items that Aston & Nechells Foodbank are in need of.

Bring your box of items with you to the next Breakfast Church / Morning Worship / Evening Service on Sunday 1st December, and we will arrange for all donations will be taken to Aston & Nechells Foodbank. This will help considerably over the Christmas period.

We support the Aston and Nechells Foodbank by giving a significant part of our Harvest gifts to them and also by collecting preserved foods for them week by week. Baskets for these are in the Foyer at St. James and in the Link at St. Philips.

The Aston and Nechells Foodbank is operated in that part of inner city Birmingham under the auspices of the Trussell Trust, a national charity, which has strict rules that food is exchanged for a voucher issued by a GP, by Social Services, by a Health Visitor or by some professional who has assessed that an individual or a family is desperate for food. We can be assured as far as possible that the food goes to where it is really needed.

Demand is great, so please consider bringing a donation when you come to Church in thankfulness for how God has blessed you.
