Sunday Services

8 am at St Philip’s Church, Dorridge

“A Quiet Space” - This is a traditional, said communion service, led by one of the Clergy every Sunday, which does not have any hymns or music.

The service, which lasts about 45 minutes, offers a quiet space in the week where people who are secure in their faith can come to meet with God and find, and give, pastoral support to each other. On the third Sunday of the month, we follow the 1662 Book of Common Prayer.

10 am at St Philip’s Church, Dorridge and at St James’ Church, Bentley Heath

“Inclusive Celebrations For All Ages” - The ethos of the 10 am services at St Philip’s and St James’ is to worship together as a united family, and a cross section of our Church community gets involved in various aspects of leadership and ministry.

As we seek to make these two 10 am services appropriate for all ages, the style and content comes in a variety of styles and traditions, and we are especially welcoming to families with children.

Our music and worship seeks to be contemporary, but with a solid, traditional background, and we aim for our preaching and teaching to be relevant, accessible and able to be applied to our daily lives.

After the service we meet together to have refreshments, catch up, and get to know each other.

We have active Sunday Schools in St Philip’s and St James’ offering age appropriate worship opportunities and learning activities during the 10 am services to which all children are welcome.

N.B. Occasionally St Philip’s and St James’ hold joint services at 10 am, so please check the Home Page for details of this week’s services

All Age Worship

On the first Sunday of the month we aim to worship together as a family of all ages at both St Philip’s and St James’, offering a crèche facility for the younger members of our church, aged from 0 to 3 years.

“Traditional Communion” - This is a traditional, quiet, communion service with a sermon, which is on the fourth Sunday of the month and lasts for up to one hour.

6.30 pm at St Philip’s Church, Dorridge

“A Friendly and Traditional Worship Encounter With God” - This is a safe, traditional and friendly place, with a quiet spiritual core, which offers a variety of worship over the month including services with, and without, communion and services specifically focussed on healing prayer.

We have a small, growing, friendly and committed congregation, and this service is a great place to come together and encounter God.

7 pm at St James’ Church, Bentley Heath (Except 4th Sunday)

“Celebration Praise” - Adults and youth come together at this service to worship God in a lively, informal way, where they can celebrate, and share, what God is doing in their lives.

The vision for the service is that it will be a safe place where people are strengthened, renewed and empowered to be the people God has created them to be through preaching, worship, prayer ministry, and fellowship.

People are encouraged to leave their masks at the door!

7 pm at St James’ Church, Bentley Heath (4th Sunday)

Forward Youth Service - Forward is our evening Youth Service, run entirely by our young people, primarily for our young people in Years 7 and above. It is held on the fourth Sunday of the month.

Our young people get involved in everything from preaching, teaching, and prayer ministry, to leading sung worship and playing in the band.

The service is relevant, chilled out, relaxed, fun, challenging, and gives young people a place where they can encounter God for themselves.

Midweek Service: 10 am Wednesday at St Philip’s Church, Dorridge

“Holy Communion” - This is a small, quiet, welcoming, and caring space where we meet with each other and God, and come around the communion table together. Every service is followed by coffee, biscuits and chat.
