24/7 Prayer
“...We implore you, on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)

People are praying continuously in over 100 countries across the world, as part of the international movement called 24/7 Prayer.

Reconciliation

This desire to mobilise people to pray without ceasing is inspired by a yearning for them to be reconciled to God spiritually, to each other socially, and to our world environmentally.

24/7 Prayer During Lent

Our 24/7 Prayer Room was open in the Lady Chapel at St Philip’s Church, for 40 days and 40 nights over Lent 2010 so that people could come and pray, listening to God for themselves, for us as a church, and our wider community.

Creative Expression

During 24/7 prayer, our prayer room is full of creative ways to speak to God with a prayer wall, painting, drawing and clay materials, a praise wall for words of adoration and worship, musical instruments, and many other practical expressions of speaking to God.

Tangible Presence

Many people have experienced the tangible presence of God during these times of quiet reflection and have valued the opportunity to be with Him in a quiet, safe place, surrounded by the prayer requests and praise of the church family.

Prayer into Action

We hope that by keeping the Prayer Room open for a short time, 24/7, people can meet with God, build their personal relationship with Him, and also be mobilised into mission for our wider world.
